Cookie Policy
What cookies are, which ones our website uses, and how you stay in control.
This Cookie Policy explains how Alphabates (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, www.alphabates.com (the “Website”). Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer or phone when you visit. They let the website — or third-party services used on it — remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or whether you’ve been there before.
Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and scripts that read information from your device. In this policy, we call all of these “cookies”.
- First-party cookies are set by the website you’re visiting.
- Third-party cookies are set by other companies, such as advertising or analytics providers.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
How Alphabates uses cookies
The short version: right now, we don’t use any.
The Website does not set any cookies of its own, and we do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. You can browse every page and send us a message without any cookies being stored on your device — our contact form works without cookies too.
If we ever add analytics or advertising, we’ll update this policy first — and, where the law requires it, we’ll ask for your permission before any non-essential cookies are used.
Types of cookies
| Type | What it does | Used on our Website? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes a website work and keeps it secure | No — our Website works without them |
| Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages are popular | No |
| Advertising | Shows ads and measures how they perform | No |
| Embedded content | Lets videos or posts from other websites play on our pages | Only on pages that include embedded content (see below) |
Embedded content from other websites
Some pages — for example, an app’s page — may include content from other websites, such as a YouTube video. When you play or view that content, the other website may set its own cookies, just as if you visited it directly. Where we can, we use privacy-friendly options, such as YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which doesn’t store information about you unless you play the video.
What about our apps?
Our Android apps don’t use browser cookies. How our apps handle information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
How to control cookies
In your browser: every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. You’ll usually find these options under Settings › Privacy or Privacy and security. Here’s how in popular browsers:
Blocking all cookies can stop parts of some websites from working properly — but it won’t stop you using our Website.
On your phone: you can reset or delete your device’s advertising ID. On Android, look in Settings › Privacy › Ads (the exact menu varies by phone). On iPhone, go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this Cookie Policy whenever we change the cookies we use — for example, if we add analytics or advertising. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
